Dr. med. Sascha Dreher

Born in 1979. Trained at one of Europe's foremost thoracic surgery programmes. Nearly two decades of operative experience across Germany's two largest thoracic centres — not by coincidence, but by design. Sascha Dreher did not choose thoracic surgery for its prestige. He chose it because he understood, early, that being present in someone's most critical moment is not a privilege — it is a responsibility. From that conviction, a career of uncommon depth was built.

Operative Scope

The full spectrum. Mastered.

Thoracic surgery demands more than technical skill. It demands the ability to read a case before the first incision — to know when to operate, when to wait, and how to navigate the unexpected.

Lung

Lobectomy, segmentectomy, wedge resection, pneumonectomy, lung volume reduction. Performed in both VATS (minimally invasive) and open technique — the choice determined by the patient, not the protocol.

Pleura

Decortication, empyema management, pneumothorax surgery. Complex septic cases welcome.

Mediastinum

Thymectomy, mediastinal tumour surgery, lymph node staging. Precision in a space where millimetres matter.

Chest Wall & Diaphragm

Resection, reconstruction, pectus excavatum correction. Thoracic trauma surgery.

Trachea

Tracheal surgery and advanced diagnostic procedures.

Outside scope: oesophageal and cardiac surgery.

Consultant Thoracic Surgeon, Klinik Schillerhöhe / Robert Bosch Hospital Stuttgart. DRG Lead Physician. Independent outpatient surgical licence.
